Fun Art vs Fine Art
Fine art is considered a disciplined approach to art that requires a certain amount of time, study and talent to master.
In "Fun Art", a child (or adult) does not need any special abilities, only an openness and a desire to bring forth something unique and beautiful.
I have been teaching arts enrichment classes to children ages 2 - 10 for the past 7 years, utilizing the concept of Fun Art. The object of these classes has been to bring out the joy of creativity in young children.
In this time of cut backs in educational art budgets, and the troubling reports of the lack of creativity in the new Common Core curriculum implemented in 45 states, I am looking to share fun art ideas on my blog with parents, grandparents, homeschoolers, preschool teachers, grade school art teachers, librarians and anyone else who wants to join me in nurturing creativity in young children (or even in yourself).
My Blog is an eclectic mix of fun art ideas, projects and instructions along with a sprinkling of anecdotal musings and inspirational thoughts.
Please give me your input in the comment sections. I would love to hear from you.
